IKI: Akebono

About this expansion

IKI: Akebono is a 2023 expansion for 2–4 players with a 90-minute play time, bringing a new location and fresh strategic possibilities to Edo.

The expansion introduces the bridge of Nihonbashi, extending the main street and offering players new opportunities. This additional location gives the game a new place to visit as players explore the changing streets of Edo.

At the bridge, players can stop to meet famous personalities from the Edo era. These include Hokusai Katsushika, Sanyo Rai, and Tokunai Mogami, adding notable historical figures to the experience.

Nihonbashi also connects players with ships in the river. Players build the ships themselves and can then trade with them, creating another way to engage with the new location and its opportunities.

IKI: Akebono adds more than a location to discover. The expansion also brings new cards and tokens to support deeper strategic decisions:

• New tobacco tokens
• New fish tokens
