Illusions of Glory: The Great War on the Eastern Front is a card-driven World War I strategy game for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 360 minutes. It recreates the Eastern Front from 1914 to 1918, using corps and divisions on a point-to-point map.

Players face a conflict shaped by military pressure, shifting objectives, and the danger of revolution. The Allied Powers bring massive forces against Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria, and Turkey while attempting to prevent a game-changing revolution in Russia. The Central Powers must defeat Russia, hold off Italy, and gain the upper hand in the Balkans—or risk demoralization and rebellion at home.

At the heart of Illusions of Glory is a hand of strategy cards offering both historical events and operational flexibility. Each card can be used for its event, unit movement, combat, or troop replacements, forcing players to weigh immediate opportunities against longer-term plans.

The game presents several ways to experience the struggle, from the complete Campaign Game to shorter scenarios. Available scenarios include Mobilization, Limited War, Total War, and an Italian Front Mini Game.

With three months represented by each turn, the system covers the historical duration of the war while focusing attention on the decisions that define a large-scale Eastern Front campaign. Illusions of Glory challenges players to balance maneuver, combat, reinforcements, political danger, and competing theaters of war.
