About this board game
Immortal 8 is a civilization drafting game for 3–6 players, with an estimated play time of 8 minutes per player and a listed play time of 60 minutes. Players compete across two rounds, building scoring opportunities while managing a limited selection of cards.
At the start, each player receives a secret Immortal card. This card provides a personal way to score victory points, adding a hidden objective to the many other scoring methods available during the game.
Each round begins with the Living Draft. Players draft five cards in the first round and four in the second, but can play only three cards in the first round and two in the second. Played cards provide bonuses, while drafted cards that remain unplayed generate gold coins.
During the Kingdom phase, players resolve their actions one at a time, completing all their actions before the next player begins. In any order, the active player can activate cards in their player area, activate one wonder, and use opponents’ buildings by paying the trading cost.
The round concludes with the Supremacy phase. The player with the most military tokens gains a supremacy token, followed by the player with the most science tokens.
After the second Supremacy phase, Immortal 8 ends and players score in several categories:
- Immortal scoring
- Wonder-token majorities
- Supremacy tokens
- Diamonds
- Culture points
- Victory point tokens
The player with the most victory points wins. With secret scoring goals, card drafting, tactical activations, and competing military and science priorities, Immortal 8 puts the focus on making every drafted card count.
