Imperial Settlers: Amazons is a 2018 expansion for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 90 minutes. It introduces the Amazons, a faction that uses deckbuilding ideas to reshape its options during play.

The Amazons make extensive use of cards with a building bonus. Most of their faction cards are useful and produce valuable resources only when built, while generally requiring only a faction foundation as their cost. This small change has a major impact on how their faction buildings are handled.

Unlike other factions, the Amazons do not discard a faction foundation when using it to build another card. Instead, the foundation returns to the faction deck. Reconstructed faction cards can also be discarded from that deck, allowing you to modify its contents as the game progresses and improve your chances of finding the cards you want.

• Return faction foundations to the deck instead of discarding them when building.
• Discard cards from your hand to help control your next moves.

With the ability to refine their deck and remove less useful options, the Amazons can focus on combinations that deliver the most victory points. Their cheap faction cards and numerous building bonuses create a distinctive approach to developing an empire.
