About this board game
Inspektor Nase is a cooperative deduction game for 2–5 players that plays in about 20 minutes. Across five rounds, players work together to identify which image card should remain in play.
Each round begins with five image cards laid out. One player takes the role of Inspector Nose, shuffles the number cards from 1 to 5, and secretly looks at one. That number identifies the target card—the card the other players must not remove.
The Inspector then rolls five image/symbol dice, selects one, and places it on the clue card. Using this clue, the other players discuss the possibilities and remove one image card from the layout. Their decision is a group deduction, but the target card must stay on the table.
- Lay out five image cards.
- Determine the hidden target card with the number cards.
- Choose clues from the image/symbol dice.
- Debate and remove cards while protecting the target.
If the players remove a card without eliminating the target, the Inspector adds another image/symbol die to the remaining dice, rolls them, and chooses a new clue. This continues as the group narrows the display, creating a chain of increasingly important decisions.
Remove four cards and leave the target behind to achieve the best result for that round. Remove the target too early, and the team must rely on the next round for another opportunity. The team earns 1 point for each correctly removed card, with a maximum possible score of 20.
With its shared discussion, changing clues, and simple scoring goal, Inspektor Nase offers a compact test of observation and cooperative reasoning.
