Ka-Ching!

About this board game

Ka-Ching! is a tactical buying-and-selling card game for 2–4 players that plays in about 20 minutes. First released in 2001, it challenges players to make the most of their starting capital through careful purchases and well-timed sales.

All cards are placed face up, giving everyone information about the available choices. On a turn, a player chooses one of the five cards sitting on top to buy, or sells two cards of the same color. A pair’s selling price is calculated by multiplying the values of its two cards together, so finding the right combination can make a major difference.

• Buy one card from the five available top cards.
• Sell two cards of the same color for their multiplied value.
• Use a wild card in place of another card when selling, once during the game.

The central challenge is not simply collecting valuable cards. You must also watch what your opponent needs and decide whether taking a useful card for yourself is better than denying them a profitable pair. Since all cards are face up, each purchase can affect both players’ plans.

Success in Ka-Ching! depends on tactical skill, perspective, and timing. Selling too early may leave better opportunities unused, while waiting too long can allow an opponent to claim the cards needed for a valuable pair. Manage your capital, read the available cards, and choose the right moment to turn matching colors into profit.
