About this board game

Kahmaté is a two-player rugby game that plays in around 30 minutes. Each player controls six men, with every man featuring different abilities and movement points.

The game focuses on moving players and passing the ball according to simplified rugby rules. Players use their six men to handle the ball and navigate the action, with movement and passing forming the core of each turn.

Every player also has access to Fitness cards numbered 1–6. These cards allow players to decide the outcome when tackling opponents and intercepting the ball, adding a clear decision point to two important rugby situations.

  • Designed for exactly two players
  • Approximately 30 minutes of play time
  • Six men per player, each with different abilities and movement points
  • Movement and passing based on simplified rugby rules
  • Fitness cards numbered 1–6 for tackles and interceptions

Because the players have different abilities and movement points, the six men are not identical. Their varied capabilities shape how movement and passing unfold while the ball moves through the game.

Released in 2008, Kahmaté presents rugby as a focused head-to-head tabletop experience. Its combination of player movement, passing, tackles, interceptions, and numbered Fitness cards captures key rugby interactions in a format built for two.
