Kohaku: Sundials Expansion

About this expansion

Kohaku: Sundials Expansion is a mini-expansion for 2–4 players that adds two new ways to score koi ponds, with games taking 45 minutes. Released in 2021, it introduces directional scoring and secret end-game objectives.

With the Sundials scoring option, each player receives a sundial featuring the N, S, W, and E directions. The sundial becomes a feature in your garden, and each player is dealt four sundial cards to place around it.

These cards create directional scoring opportunities within your pond. Earn bonus points by correctly positioning koi and/or features according to the relative directions shown by your sundial cards.

The second option is Hidden Objectives scoring. Each player is dealt two cards and secretly keeps one. The chosen card remains hidden from the other players until the end of the game, when it is revealed.

Any points earned from the hidden card are added to the score from your pond. This option includes 12 cards and gives every player a private scoring target to consider while building their pond.
