About this board game
Kraków 1325 AD is a four-player card game of strategy and trickery, played with a map board and lasting about 120 minutes. Set in Kraków, the capital of Medieval Poland, it casts players as ruthless crooks competing for influence and riches.
Players form two teams and use a deck of 56 special Intrigue Cards to contest influence across the map. Yet the apparent partnership is only part of the story: every player has a hidden Identity and secretly competes against everyone else, including their own teammate.
This hidden agenda creates a tense game of deception, shifting loyalties, and carefully timed plays. Team competition unfolds on the surface, while each player pursues a personal path toward the final victory. When the game ends, there can be only one winner.
- For exactly 4 players
- Approximately 120 minutes of play
- A map board combined with card-driven intrigue
- Two teams, secret Identities, and individual competition
- Original artwork and a warped sense of humour
The game includes a mapboard, 56 Intrigue Cards, 8 Special Cards, 4 Treasury boxes, 110 wooden Influence Tokens, and 10 Victory Point/Turn markers. Together, these components support a richly presented contest for control, wealth, and hidden advantage.
First presented at Spiel 08 in Essen in October 2008, Kraków 1325 AD was released in English and Dutch versions. A three-player expansion followed in October 2009, with English/Dutch and German versions available.
