About this board game
Lass die Kirche im Dorf! is a two-player board game for a 30-minute contest to complete your town before your opponent. Build across a 7×7 board, arrange your pieces, and connect them under strict positioning conditions.
Each player begins with a church steeple and nave in opposite corners, with the roof ridge pointing in a chosen direction. The clergyman starts in the central space. Players then take turns placing their seven houses, with each house going into an empty space that is not orthogonally adjacent to one of their other pieces.
On your turn, choose one of your pieces and move it in a straight line, following the direction of its roof ridge. You may move as many spaces as you wish, but occupied spaces cannot be crossed. After moving, rotate the piece 90 degrees, changing the direction for a future turn.
The clergyman offers a special way out when movement is blocked. If one of your pieces is blocked on both sides by the board edge or other pieces, you can swap that piece with the clergyman, then rotate the piece 90 degrees to finish the turn.
- Players: 2
- Play time: 30 minutes
- Board: 7×7 spaces
- Objective: connect all your pieces orthogonally
To win Lass die Kirche im Dorf!, all of your pieces must form one orthogonally connected group. Your steeple must also be orthogonally adjacent to your nave, while neither church piece may occupy a perimeter space. The first player whose pieces meet every condition wins.
