About this board game
Last Will is a 2–5-player board game with an approximately 75-minute play time, in which extravagant spending determines who inherits a rich uncle’s fortune. Each player must spend through their starting money before their rivals, turning lavish living into a competitive race.
Players choose a plan each round that determines their card draws, available errand boys, number of actions, and position in the playing order. Cards come from decks featuring properties, companions, events, helpers, and expenses, with special cards adding further opportunities for extravagant schemes.
- Buy properties at new-property prices, then sell them as ruins.
- Visit the opera, host enormous parties, and use companions to increase the cost of events and expenses.
- Play helpers, recurring expenses, properties, and special cards to create more ways to spend.
- Adjust the property market and add player-board extensions to manage your growing collection of cards.
Properties can depreciate between rounds, but they also prevent bankruptcy while you still own them. Selling them puts money back in your hands, so timing, market manipulation, and carefully planned expenses are essential. If a player has no money and no properties, bankruptcy ends the game at the conclusion of that round; otherwise, play ends after seven rounds, and the player with the least money—or the most debt—wins.
This compilation also includes Last Will: Getting Sacked. Each player begins with a job that provides income but includes requirements for earning demotions and eventually losing the job. Wedding cards offer another costly option, while a randomly selected set of plan tiles gives each game a different planning board.
In Last Will, the path to victory is simple in theory: spend everything. Making that happen before everyone else is the real challenge.
