About this board game
Legend of Zagor is a 1–4 player dungeon-crawling adventure with an approximately 60-minute play time, inspired by the RPG-like mechanics of the Fighting Fantasy books and the exploration of TSR’s Dungeon.
Players venture through a three-level dungeon: the Chambers of Death, the Hall of Fear, and the Crypt of Zagor. The game combines a richly presented board, character sheets, spells, equipment, treasure, and a broad collection of monsters with an electronic voice that serves as a game moderator, creating a distinctive atmosphere reminiscent of MB’s The Omega Virus.
Four heroes are included: Anvar the Barbarian, Stubble the Dwarf, Braxus the Warrior, and Sallazar the Wizard. Their adventure brings them face to face with creatures ranging from goblins, orcs, zombies, and skeletons to trolls, ogres, Chaos Champions, a Hellhorn, and the third-level Flame Dragon.
- Three dungeon levels: the Chambers of Death, the Hall of Fear, and the Crypt of Zagor
- Key figures: Undead Warlock Zagor, the Merchant Shop Keeper with cat, four heroes, and the Flame Dragon
- Adventure equipment: 46 corridor tiles, 16 room tiles, 55 spell cards, and 24 treasure chest cards
- Tokens and tools: gold coins, weapons, armor, magic items, healing potions, torches, magic arrows, hirelings, and mules
With superb plastic miniatures and a detailed board, Legend of Zagor offers a memorable visual presentation for fans of fantasy dungeon adventures. It was released in 1993 and produced only in Europe, arriving late in the era of enthusiasm surrounding HeroQuest.
