About this board game

Lemming is a tactical racing game for 2–5 players, with games lasting around 30 minutes. Each player guides two lemmings across a board of hexagonal spaces, racing to move both of them across the finish line first.

Most spaces are grassland and can be entered with any card, while special terrain such as water and hills requires the matching landscape type. Players begin with a hand of cards, each showing one of five landscape types and a number from 0 to 4.

  • Discard any number of cards and refill your hand to six, or play one card and move a lemming.
  • Build movement power by playing cards at or below the value of the top card in that landscape’s pile.
  • Start a new landscape pile with a higher card and place a bonus landscape hex on the board.
  • Push lemmings in your path aside by spending movement points, including your own lemming when the positioning is right.

When a played card continues an existing landscape pile, add the values of all cards in that type to determine how far the selected lemming may move. The lemming can cross grassland and the matching landscape freely, creating opportunities to plan efficient routes.

A newly placed landscape hex can make future movement more difficult for opponents, turning each card play into both a racing move and a potential obstacle. Meanwhile, lemmings can be pushed aside before entering their spaces, allowing clever positioning to open a route—or even send a lemming across the finish line.

With its combination of hand management, route planning, changing terrain, and direct interaction, Lemming makes every move a contest for momentum. Get both of your lemmings over the finish line before anyone else to win.
