About this board game
Line-it is a card game for 2–5 players that plays in about 20 minutes, challenging you to build ascending or descending lines while deciding when to score and when to keep going.
The deck includes four colors of numbered cards from 1–100, along with six Bet cards numbered 3–5. Each round, the market holds two more cards than the number of players. On your turn, draft a card and either start or extend your line, or place the card in your hand.
Your hand can hold no more than two cards. If a drafted card cannot be added to your line without breaking its ascending or descending pattern, and cannot be added to your hand, you must score your line before using it to start a new one. You may also play one card from your hand into your line after drafting, then choose whether to score.
- Add one Bet card to a line regardless of its value or the line’s direction.
- When scoring, check whether enough cards were added after the Bet card to meet its number.
- Discard three cards from the line, then place the remaining cards face down in your scoring pile.
Bet cards can provide positive or negative tokens, depending on whether their requirement was met. Meanwhile, unchosen number cards go beneath jackpot tokens matching their colors. Add a line’s third card of a color and you immediately claim that color’s jackpot cards for your scoring pile.
When the deck can no longer provide enough cards, each player plays one card from their hand, scores their line, and tallies their result. Every scored card is worth 1 point, modified by collected Bet tokens. In Line-it, the highest total wins.
