About this board game
Littoral Commander: The Baltic is a board game for 2–6 players with an approximately 240-minute play time, exploring hypothetical conflicts and crises in the Baltic region of Europe.
As the second installment in the Littoral Commander series, it builds on the core game system while introducing new units, cards, and mechanics. The game expands the series with a stronger focus on ground combat and amphibious operations.
New forces include the Amphibious Ready Group / Marine Expeditionary Unit (ARG MEU), the Multi-Domain Task Force (MDTF), and various types of Russian regiments. These additions broaden the military situations represented in the Baltic setting while preserving the series’ emphasis on managing every aspect of battle.
- New units, including the ARG MEU, MDTF, and Russian regiments
- New mechanics for ground combat and amphibious operations
- New cards and a campaign mechanic for outfitting ships
One of the new core mechanics asks players to prepare their ships for a campaign by carefully managing available resources and space. This planning element is part of the game’s wider emphasis on logistics, requiring attention to the practical demands of sustaining operations alongside combat decisions.
With its Baltic setting, hypothetical scenarios, expanded forces, and campaign-level ship preparation, Littoral Commander: The Baltic develops the original system in a new regional context. Released in 2025, it offers a substantial tabletop experience for groups of two to six players.
