About this board game
Loch Ness is a 2010 family board game for 2–5 players, with an approximate play time of 20 minutes. Designed for children ages 4 and up, it offers simple basic rules with additional rules that can make the game more exciting as players grow and learn.
The legendary monster is somewhere in the lake, and every tourist wants to take a good photograph. Players place their 2–3 tourist pawns on locations around the lake’s shores, then try to bring the monster close to their chosen spots.
A 12-sided die determines Nessie’s movement, with different effects influencing how the monster moves. When the monster comes near, skilled and lucky tourists can draw one or more photo tiles from the sack. Players keep only the last tile they take, creating a simple push-and-pull around the chance to capture the best pictures.
When the photo tiles run out, the player with the best collection is the winner. The basic game is easy to learn, while the advanced rules provide a more challenging version for players ready to add extra excitement.
