Lock ‘n Load: In Defeat, Defiance is a two-player tactical wargame expansion for Heroes of the Blitzkrieg, with an approximate play time of 90 minutes. Released in 2012, it brings the British Expeditionary Force to the battlefield of France 1940.
This substantial expansion includes more than 170 counters and fourteen scenarios designed by Dale Holmstrom and Mark Walker. Together, they portray a range of encounters from the campaign, including British and SS fighting near Arras and Rommel’s crossing of the Brasse Canal.
The counter mix adds a wide selection of British units, vehicles, weapons, and specialist personnel to the game. Notable inclusions are:
- Vickers, Cruiser, and Matilda tanks
- Bren carriers, Bren guns, and British squads
- 2pdr and 25mm anti-tank guns
- 51mm mortars and Boys anti-tank rifles
- Leaders, heroes, and snipers
With fourteen scenarios covering different situations and forces, In Defeat, Defiance expands the Heroes of the Blitzkrieg setting with a major British focus. Its scenarios center on the British experience during the 1940 fighting in France, from armored and infantry clashes to notable advances across the battlefield.
