Long Range Recon Patrol: A Solitaire Wargame is a solo wargame for one player, designed for sessions of about 60 minutes. Set during the Vietnam War, it places you in command of a Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol, or LRRP, operating deep behind enemy lines.

Western forces found that traditional military strategies and tactics were not enough to defeat jungle-based guerrilla warfare. Smaller teams became essential for reconnaissance and intelligence gathering. In this game, your patrol is dropped into the jungle, carries out its mission orders, and then attempts to reach the extraction zone.

An LRRP usually consisted of around six men. The team works closely together, is heavily armed, and does whatever is necessary to complete the job. Remaining undetected is the preferred approach whenever possible, but the patrol may face a variety of mission types during its operation.

Long Range Recon Patrol: A Solitaire Wargame draws on the history of reconnaissance operations, a concept that had also been used during the American Revolutionary War and World War II. Released in 2023, it offers a focused solo experience built around stealth, intelligence gathering, mission completion, and the dangerous journey home.
