About this board game

Loonacy is a rapid-fire card game for 2-5 players that takes about 10 minutes to play. Players race to be the first to empty their hand by matching images on their cards with images on face-up piles.

Each card features two images, giving players opportunities to connect cards in their hand to the available piles. To play, match one of the images on a card in your hand with an image showing on one of the face-up piles in front of you.

  • Race to empty your hand.
  • Match either of two images on a card.
  • Play against face-up piles in front of you.
  • Continue immediately when new plays become available.

The number of face-up piles varies according to the number of players. This keeps the layout tied to the size of the game while everyone competes to play cards and reduce their hand.

Sometimes the action reaches a moment when no one can play. When that happens, everyone draws a card at the same time and adds it to their hand. Once the cards have been added, gameplay resumes and the race continues.

With its short play time and direct matching system, Loonacy focuses on quick decisions and constant attention to the available images. The central objective remains simple: find a match, play a card, and work toward being the first player with no cards left.

Released in 2014, Loonacy offers a compact competitive card-game experience for groups of two to five players.
