Lords of Ragnarok: Utgard – Realms of the Giants

About this expansion

Lords of Ragnarok: Utgard – Realms of the Giants is a 2023 game for 1–4 players with an approximately 90-minute play time.

Utgard introduces a new realm to the game, replacing Jotunheim with a land inhabited by formidable Ice Giants. In the setting, Utgard may be understood either as a world or as a fortress located in Jotunheim, giving this realm a distinctive place in the game.

Players who have an alliance can recruit Ice Giants into their armies. These giants are not simply a thematic addition: they provide a significant bonus to strength in the next battle in which the army takes part.

• Utgard replaces Jotunheim.
• Ice Giants are introduced to the game.
• Players with an alliance can recruit them into their armies.
• Recruited Ice Giants grant a major strength bonus in the army’s next battle.

This creates a clear connection between alliance access, recruitment, and future combat. The benefit is tied to the next battle involving the army, making the timing of an Ice Giant’s contribution an important part of the new realm’s role.

With its focus on Utgard and the Ice Giants who inhabit it, Lords of Ragnarok: Utgard – Realms of the Giants adds a focused new element to the game while defining a powerful battlefield benefit for allied players.
