About this board game

Los Tesoros del Rey Pirata is a pirate treasure game for 2–4 players, with games lasting around 45 minutes. With the Pirate King gone, seasoned crews sail between islands to collect treasure cards and compete to become the next Pirate King or Queen.

The game board presents 12 islands arranged in a 5×7 grid. Three map cards indicate which islands players can visit to claim treasures, giving every voyage a clear destination. Treasure cards provide points, and the pirate with the most points at the end wins the game.

Players can do more than search for buried booty. During their turns, they may challenge opponents in duels to steal treasures or open fire to take cards from another player’s hand. Treason cards can disrupt rival plans, while protection cards can counter those attacks.

Most actions require a number. Cards feature dice that provide these values, and players choose whether to use a die from a card in their hand, making the number known, or reveal the first card from the deck for a random result.

A card used as a die is discarded and does not provide any additional effect. In Los Tesoros del Rey Pirata, deciding when to rely on certainty and when to risk an unknown number is part of the race for the greatest treasure haul.
