About this board game

Ludi Gladiatorii is a gladiator-management and arena combat game for 1–5 players, with games lasting about 45 minutes. Set in the Coliseo at the heart of Rome, it casts you as a lanista, the owner of a ludus seeking champions, victories, and honor.

Your main objective is to reach 7 points of Fame and Glory. You can pursue this goal by making your ludus bigger, by winning combats, or through a combination of both. Every choice helps shape the history of your gladiatorial school.

Auctions offer the chance to acquire the best fighters. Once you have gladiators at your disposal, you can decide how to use them: sell them, order them to build, or send them to fight. You must also train and pay for the champions who represent your ludus in the arena.

• Ludus development: expand your infrastructure and make your school bigger.
• Combat preparation: set combats and choose how your gladiators will serve your ambitions.
• Damage cards: resolve arena clashes with a drawing damage cards system.

Each victory for your ludus becomes a line written in history, while the growth of your infrastructure provides another route toward Fame and Glory. Ludi Gladiatorii combines auctions, development, gladiator management, and combat in a focused contest for arena supremacy.
