About this board game
Lumis: Der Pfad des Feuers is an abstract connection game for 2–4 players, with games taking about 30 minutes. In a two-player duel or a four-player team game, players compete to create a complete path of glowing fire stones across the board.
The goal is to connect your tower blocks from one side of the game board to the opposite side. At the beginning of the game, each side places tower blocks on the board. Players then use cards that match the colored spaces to build connections between their towers.
A tower is not truly secure until you have connected to it. Until that happens, your opponent can steal it, creating a race in which every connection matters. Build toward your own route while working at cross purposes with the opposing side.
- Player count: 2–4 players
- Play modes: two-player duel or four-player team game
- Core objective: connect your towers across the board
- Main mechanisms: matching cards to colored spaces and building paths with glowing fire stones
With its simple central objective and contested board, Lumis: Der Pfad des Feuers belongs to the tradition of abstract connection games such as Hex and Twixt. Each side must complete its route before the other side does, while also taking opportunities to disrupt the opposing path.
The first player or team to make a complete connection wins. Released in 2015, Lumis offers a focused race across the board for players who enjoy direct competition, shared team play, and clearly defined connection-building goals.
