About this board game

Lunch [atop a Skyscraper] is a 2025 board game for 2–4 players, with games lasting around 30 minutes. Each player takes on the role of a photographer competing to complete an advertising agency assignment: create a scene emulating the iconic photograph Lunch atop a Skyscraper.

To build your scene, collect Worker tiles and arrange them to form the composition. Your score comes from the longest continuous series for each of the eight model characteristics, making the way you organize the workers central to your success.

  • For 2–4 players
  • Approximately 30 minutes per game
  • Collect and arrange Worker tiles
  • Score the longest continuous series across 8 model characteristics

The game draws its theme from the famous 1932 photograph associated with the construction of the GE Building, also known as 30 Rockefeller Plaza, in New York. The original scene featured eleven models posing for the shot as part of an advertising campaign. Although the image became world-famous, its photographer is now considered anonymous.

In Lunch [atop a Skyscraper], that anonymous history becomes the starting point for a competitive puzzle of photographic composition and scoring. It is the first game in the Flash-black series, a collection of games inspired by iconic photographs. Build your arrangement, pursue the strongest continuous series, and aim to deliver the highest-scoring interpretation of a legendary scene.
