Lungarno

About this board game

Lungarno is a strategy game for 2–5 players that takes about 45 minutes, set in fourteenth-century Pisa along the banks of the River Arno. Players compete to become the richest merchant by building districts, making deals with powerful families, and earning gold.

In this world of merchants and builders, wealth and prestige go hand in hand. Using building tiles, players construct the various districts of Lungarno, including palaces, tower houses, plazas, and shops. Merchants are sent to trade with the four great families, represented by shields in different colors.

When a district is complete, its merchants earn profits based on the prestige of the families present in that district. Careful placement and competition are central to the race for influence, as each player seeks to dominate the Lungarno and outpace rival merchant houses.

Gold is the measure of success in Lungarno. At the end of the game, the player with the most gold wins.

With its Renaissance-era setting, tile-based district building, merchant placement, and family prestige system, Lungarno offers a focused contest for wealth and power in historic Pisa. The game is also expanded by Lungarno: Luminara.
