Luxor: Queenie 1 – Swarm of Scarabs is a 2018 board game addition for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 45 minutes. It introduces 15 scarab tokens that provide a range of powerful one-shot actions.

Each scarab token can be acquired and saved until a player chooses to use its action on a later turn. These effects create fresh tactical options, allowing players to alter card play, movement, and the use of effects from the Horus card display.

• Play any card instead of only the leftmost or rightmost card.
• When entering a tunnel, jump directly to the last discovered tunnel.
• Ignore the played card and move one adventurer to the next following adventurer.
• Ignore the played card and use the effect of one of the top Horus cards from the display.
• Ignore the played card and move one adventurer to the next treasure tile.

During setup, players decide how to add the new scarab tiles. They can replace the scarab tiles from the basic game, or the new tiles can be shuffled in alongside them for a combined selection.

This flexible setup lets players choose whether to use only the new actions or mix them with the basic set. With its varied effects and carefully timed uses, Luxor: Queenie 1 – Swarm of Scarabs adds more choices to each turn while keeping every scarab action limited to a single use.
