About this board game

Madness At Midnight is a competitive Lovecraftian strategy game for 2–4 players, with an approximate play time of 120 minutes. Each player leads a gang of deranged cultists seeking to summon a chosen Lovecraftian god and bring about the end of the world.

The game’s central mechanism is a set of custom action dice. Use their results to move your cultists around Arkham, visit different locations, activate location abilities, and take actions that advance your sinister plans. The dice also help you learn spells, corrupt citizens, upgrade your cultists, and engage in fights with rival players.

Victory can come through several dark paths. Work toward sinister plots, defeat feared investigators, and control key locations to collect Victory Points. The first player to reach 13 Victory Points wins the game and earns the right to end the world.

  • Move cultists through Arkham using custom action dice.
  • Activate location abilities and pursue sinister plots.
  • Learn spells, corrupt citizens, and upgrade your cultists.
  • Fight other players and defeat feared investigators.
  • Control key locations to gain Victory Points.

Madness is both a resourceful stepping stone and a serious obstacle. As the game progresses and your cultists become madder, the chance of rolling the results you need decreases, making your dice harder to manage. In Madness At Midnight, successful cult leadership means balancing growing madness with carefully chosen actions while competing for control of Arkham.
