About this board game

Mali Powstańcy: Warszawa 1944 is a 2–4-player eurogame that takes about 30 minutes, placing players in command of scout units delivering orders during the Warsaw Rising of 1944.

Each player leads a unit of three Scouts. Their task is to deliver the most orders on time while racing against the other units through Warsaw’s underground sewage canals. The scouts may compete to be first, but cooperation is essential: delayed orders can cost crucial parts of the city or even entire districts.

The game reflects the dangerous work of the young couriers who carried letters and orders between squads of rebels. Many of these boys died while performing their duties. If too many orders fall into enemy hands, all players lose, making the shared threat as important as individual success.

  • Players: 2–4
  • Playing time: approximately 30 minutes
  • Core challenge: deliver orders on time while balancing competition and cooperation
  • Rule sets: basic and extended variants

The basic variant is easier and includes more random elements, making it suitable for young players and families. The extended variant is designed for adults and gamers, adding special actions, more planning, and secret goals.

Published by Egmont Polska in 2009, Mali Powstańcy: Warszawa 1944 was developed in cooperation with the Polish Scout Association (ZHP) and the Warsaw Rising Museum. The rules were published in Polish, English, and German, supporting play across a wider audience.
