About this board game

Mammut is a 30-minute family strategy game for 2–5 players about dividing the spoils of a mammoth hunt. Each round, tiles are shuffled in a bag and dropped onto the table, revealing the meat, fur, tusks, animals, and tools available to claim.

The hunt’s rewards are divided through a distinctive push-and-pull mechanic. On your turn, you may take any number of tiles from the central pool, or accuse another player of being too greedy and take all of that player’s tiles. However, you must return at least one tile to the pool, showing that you are being a little less greedy yourself.

The next player without tiles takes their turn. As players claim shares, the pool gradually grows, and the round ends when the last player without tiles takes what remains. Everyone then has a collection of tiles, and a scoring phase follows.

• Tile drafting: Choose from the face-up spoils of the hunt.
• Greed challenges: Seize another player’s tiles, but return at least one to the pool.
• Varied scoring: Each tile has its own way of scoring.
• Special cards: Play cards for immediate effects or secretly influence scoring.
