About this board game
Martian Fluxx is a Martian Invasion-themed Fluxx game for 2–6 players, with play time of about 30 minutes. Set in a world inspired by classic alien-invasion stories, it casts every player as an invader from Mars.
In this version, the Keepers are the useful—and sometimes wonderfully strange—things that help the Martians pursue victory. The Creepers are Pathetic Humans, constantly getting in the way and keeping the invaders from winning. Even the humble Cow is a Keeper, since cows are good eating for both Humans and Martians.
- Mars, the Mothership, the Flying Saucer, and the Tripod
- The City, the Cow, the Ray Gun, and the Space Suit
- The Tentacle, Abduction Chamber, Space Modulator, and Mind-Control Transmitter
The Tentacle may seem inconvenient from a human perspective, but in Martian Fluxx, it is one of the cool things on your side. You can even use the Ray Gun to vaporize Pathetic Humans, although the Germs Creeper is harder to get rid of.
There are two Cow Keepers in the game, and collecting both can lead to victory with the Two All-Beef Earthlings Goal. Other Goals and card combinations add to the playful struggle as Martian invaders assemble their ideal collection while dealing with troublesome Earthlings.
Released in 2009, Martian Fluxx brings the series’ offbeat humor to a theme filled with flying saucers, ray guns, tentacles, and classic invasion imagery. It is a lighthearted take on the stories that began with The War of the Worlds.
