About this board game

Master Fox is a tactile party game for 2–4 players that takes about 20 minutes. As ambitious young foxes, players compete to become the aging Master Fox’s successor by completing missions and bringing him the biggest loot from a nearby cottage.

Each round begins when three cards are flipped to reveal the animals that must be captured. The pawns are then shuffled inside the game box, players put on their fox blindfolds, and everyone reaches in to feel for the shapes they need.

Your bag can hold no more than four catches, so every decision matters. Touching a pawn does not guarantee that it is the right one, and the shapes can be deceiving. When you believe you have collected the best possible combination, shout “Stop!” to end the round for everyone.

• Capture the wanted animal pawns by touch.
• Score one point for each wanted pawn in your bag.
• Lose one point for incorrect or extra pawns.
• Use later-round tricks to change the contest.

As the game progresses, new possibilities add more mischief to the hunt. Catch fox cubs for extra points, use sneaky snakes to steal from opponents’ bags, or defend yourself with the mighty hammer.

With simultaneous searching, push-your-luck choices, and a physical challenge that rewards careful feeling rather than sight, Master Fox creates a lively race against both the other players and the limited space in your bag. Released in 2015, it turns a simple search for pawns into a contest of nerve, memory, and deceptive shapes.
