About this board game

Master of Economy is a financial strategy game for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 120 minutes. Players manage corporations, increase the value of private property, and compete for influence through a stock market with no luck factor.

Each player begins by managing one of four corporations. Corporations invest in new factories and trade produced goods to earn money, but deciding what to do with those earnings is the heart of the game. Money can be reinvested to strengthen a corporation in the next phase or used to buy shares in another company and apply pressure to its leader.

The shareholder with the largest number of shares can be elected as a corporation’s new leader. During the voting phase, players and corporations that hold shares cast votes, creating a layered struggle for control. Even an investment that does not take over a company may still generate profit—or force an opponent to spend corporate funds defending their position.

  • Pure strategic play: There is no random element, so planning and predicting opponents are essential.
  • Double circulation of money: Players and corporations each hold money, and both can own shares and vote.
  • Flexible approaches: You can focus on corporate management, stock-market speculation, or combine both.
  • Multiple-player tension: Up to four players intensify the contest during shareholder votes.

Experienced players may even compete without managing a corporation, relying entirely on stock-market profits, although this approach is recommended for advanced play. Master of Economy also includes a fixed 2-versus-2 variant, offering a structured team format for four players.
