Meenakshi Temple

About this board game

Meenakshi Temple is a three-dimensional action-selection game for 1–5 players, with play times of about 60 minutes. Players gradually construct their own breathtaking gopurams, creating temple towers of up to six levels while competing for the most victory points.

Across the game, players use 115 custom plastic Deity statues and seek the support of five Patron Deities: Meenakshi, Kali, Ganesha, Ganga, and Skanda. Each turn, a player places their meeple on an available action slot and resolves the selected action.

Action strength affects more than the current turn. The stronger the action chosen, the later that player will take their turn during the next round, creating an important balance between immediate power and future position.

• Construct statues on your developing tower.
• Place a slab to close the current level.
• Receive a blessing based on the statues on the current level.
• Upgrade your sheet to improve your development.
• Gain a white statue of Shiva.

As the structure grows, every player builds a distinctive multi-level construction in front of them. The completed towers provide the setting for scoring, alongside each player’s secret goal and divine blessings.

Released in 2023, Meenakshi Temple combines spatial construction, deity statues, blessings, and action timing in a striking three-dimensional experience. When the game ends, the player who scores the most victory points from their tower, secret goal, and divine blessings wins.
