About this expansion
Memoir ’44: Sword of Stalingrad is a 2–8 player expansion with an approximately 90-minute play time, featuring four scenarios and new cards for urban warfare. It is part of the Battle Map series, which is designed to encourage team play.
The expansion includes two large-scale, ready-to-play Overlord Scenarios: Sword of Stalingrad and Rats in a Factory. In Sword of Stalingrad, players fight from a grain elevator overlooking a strategically vital square while the South Railway Station changes hands repeatedly. Rats in a Factory takes place in the Northern Factories, described as a harsh battlefield of creaking metal sheets and a burning industrial environment.
Battle Map Volume 3 also provides two standard scenarios that can be played on a regular Memoir ’44 board: Mamayev Kurgan and Pavlov, Hero of the Soviet Union. The Battle Map format includes terrain, obstacles, and unit positions pre-printed on each map, helping make setup quick.
- Two large-scale, ready-to-play Overlord Scenarios
- Two standard scenarios for a regular Memoir ’44 board
- New Summary cards for previously published Battle Maps and the Mediterranean Theater expansion
- A new Combat Deck specifically designed for urban warfare
With support for up to eight players, Memoir ’44: Sword of Stalingrad expands team-based play around a concentrated urban battle setting. Its scenario maps and additional cards bring the Stalingrad battlefields, factories, railway stations, and fortified positions to the table.
