About this board game

Mixmo is a quick letters game for 2–6 players that takes about 15 minutes to play. First released in 2009, it challenges everyone to build crosswords from letter tiles as the game unfolds.

To begin, all the letter tiles are placed face down in the middle of the table. Each player receives six letters. When the signal is given, everyone turns their tiles and tries to make crosswords using the letters they have.

The game keeps all players involved at the same time. As soon as a player has used all of their letters, they say “Mixmo”. This call moves the game into its next stage, with every player picking two more letters.

• Place all letter tiles face down in the middle of the table.

• When a player uses all their letters, they say “Mixmo.”
• Each player picks two more letters, and play continues.

Mixmo is built around a simple repeating rhythm: reveal letters, arrange them into crosswords, call out when your letters are used, and add two more tiles. The game continues until all the face-down letters have been used.
