About this board game
Mob Ties: The Board Game is a negotiation, intrigue, and revenge game for 3–6 players, played in approximately 90–120 minutes. Each player takes the role of a mob boss competing for control of a small city.
Move members of your family between locations on the board to collect cash, protect your assets, and build respect. You can intimidate or work with other players’ family members, but every alliance exists alongside the threat of attack from rival families.
At the start of the game, players receive favor cards that include attack, defense, weapon, and specialty cards. During each action round, you may play any or all of the cards in your hand. Attack opposing family members in locations where you also have family members, or use defensive cards to protect your own pieces.
- Draw from the Fed Deck each round to determine how many Feds appear and where they are placed.
- Defend locations surrounded by four or more Feds with weapons, or vote for one player to be pinched.
- Send pinched family members to the Prison location while the Heat Meter continues to rise.
The growing Fed presence forces difficult choices as players balance cooperation, betrayal, and self-preservation. Family members can be killed or pinched, increasing the Heat Meter until it reaches its highest level and ends the game.
When the game concludes, players count their remaining game pieces and the cash they have accumulated. In Mob Ties: The Board Game, the player with the most money and respect wins.
