About this board game

Modern Land Battles: Target Acquired is a 2–6 player strategy game with a playing time of about 60 minutes, putting players in command of modern ground forces drawn from historical and hypothetical conflicts.

Using the core game mechanisms of the award-winning Modern Naval Battles, the game focuses on meaningful decisions throughout every turn. At the beginning of the game, each player selects a nation to command, then chooses the specific armor, infantry, and artillery forces they believe will make the strongest battle force.

Once forces have been selected, players engage the formations chosen by their opponents in a contest to capture and secure vital objectives. The system is designed to keep decisions at the center of play, making each turn an opportunity to determine how your selected forces will perform on the battlefield.

Seven nations and force groups are represented: USA, USSR, UK, China, Israel, Insurgent, and Arabian Multinational. Together, they provide the forces needed to explore a broad range of modern conflicts.

  • Arab-Israeli Wars, including the Six-Day War and Yom Kippur War
  • Iran-Iraq War and Vietnam War
  • Lebanon War and Falkland Islands War
  • Gulf War and conflicts extending to the present day

Whether recreating a historical confrontation or testing a hypothetical matchup, Modern Land Battles: Target Acquired gives players the freedom to select their nation and shape their force before the fighting begins. The result is a focused modern warfare game built around force selection, tactical decision making, and competing for objectives.
