About this board game

MON: Emblems of Sengoku is a card game for 2–6 players that takes about 30 minutes to play. Players take turns playing cards in numerical order while competing to receive the points on the cards in play.

Each round begins with the first player and proceeds clockwise, with turns passing to the player on the left. On every turn, a player must play, change, or discard a card. The order of play matters: following the numerical sequence as closely as possible helps players hold on to valuable points.

Points on cards in play can be taken by other players, so an opportunity to score may not remain yours for long. The game’s central contest comes from managing your cards while trying to respect the required order and prevent opponents from stealing points.

  • Players: 2–6
  • Play time: approximately 30 minutes
  • Core actions: play, change, or discard a card
  • Scoring: receive points from cards in play

The game ends when one player runs out of cards. Play then continues for one more round, giving the remaining players a final opportunity to act and score.

After that final round, everyone compares their scores. In MON: Emblems of Sengoku, the player with the highest score wins, making careful attention to card order and the timing of each turn essential from the opening play through the end of the game.
