Money!

About this board game

Money! is a currency-trading and bidding game for 2–5 players that plays in about 30 minutes. Your goal is to finish with a more valuable hand than anyone else by trading currencies with the bank and other players.

Each player begins with six cards. The deck contains cards in seven currencies, with values ranging from 20 to 60, as well as coins worth 10. During setup, four cards are placed face up on each side of the deck, creating two lots available for bidding.

In each round, players secretly choose a bid of one or more cards from their hands, then reveal their bids simultaneously. The player with the highest total value takes either the four-card lot to the left or right of the deck, or another player’s revealed bid. The captured cards are added to their hand, while the bid is placed beside the deck or in front of the player whose bid was taken. Alternatively, the player may return the bid to their hand.

The remaining bids resolve in descending order, with each player choosing an available lot or bid. Once every bid has been resolved, draw cards from the deck to refill the lots on both sides to four cards. When the deck runs out, play one final round before scoring.

Your final score rewards both concentration and careful collection:

• A currency worth 200 or more scores its full value.
• A currency worth less than 200 scores its value minus 100, but never below zero.
• Collecting all three 20s or all three 30s in a currency earns 100 bonus points.
• Coins in hand add their value to your total.

The player with the highest score wins. Most editions include rules for 3–5 players, while the 2025 Allplay edition also includes a two-player variant.
