About this board game
Monster Factory is a tile-drawing and tile-placement game for 2–6 players, with play time of about 30 minutes. Taking turns, players draw tiles and place them to develop monsters, either adding to their own creations or to those belonging to their opponents.
The central challenge is finding the right balance between ambition and completion. The goal is to make monsters that are big, but growing them too much can leave them unfinished. Each placement contributes to the evolving monsters on the table, creating a simple push-and-pull between building up your own creatures and influencing someone else’s.
Monster Factory focuses on accessible turns and a clear objective: create impressive monsters without overextending. Because tiles may be added to your own monsters or to those of other players, every turn offers a choice about where your next piece will have the greatest impact.
- For 2–6 players

Released in 2012, the game features original art by Nina Paley, with coloring by Marco Morte. Their visual work gives the growing monsters a distinctive artistic presentation as players assemble their creations.
Whether you focus on expanding your own monsters or carefully deciding when to add to an opponent’s, Monster Factory presents a compact contest of timing and tile placement. Build boldly, watch the limits of each creation, and try to finish with monsters that are large without going too far.
