About this board game

Monza is a car-racing game for 2–6 players that takes about 15 minutes to play. Designed for children aged 5 and older, it combines color recognition with tactical decision-making on a three-lane racing track.

Six racing cars begin on the starting grid. On a turn, a player rolls all six identical dice, each showing one of six different colors, then compares the results with the colored squares directly ahead of their car.

Players may use their dice to move forward one square at a time, setting aside the die that matches each move. The goal is to find clever combinations that let the car advance rapidly. If some colors cannot be used, the turn ends, so choosing how to use the available results is important.

  • Six colored dice guide movement around the track.
  • The board features a three-lane race track.
  • Cars may move only ahead and must avoid obstacle squares.
  • Lane changes are allowed only when the far end of the neighboring square is ahead of the car’s current square.

Cars can also affect one another. If a car lands on a square occupied by another car, the occupying car moves back to the next available square in the same lane.

With its simple color-based movement and room for tactical choices, Monza offers an accessible racing challenge for young players. The game states that children aged 5 and older can play, while also noting that 3- and 4-year-olds can join in the fun.
