About this board game
Mosquito Show is a tactical two-player game that plays in about 20 minutes, with each player controlling a toucan and a chameleon. Released in 2020, it challenges both players to feed their animals while carefully managing movement across a 4×4 grid.
The board features stacks of three mosquito tokens at the nine internal intersections of the grid. On your turn, choose whether to move your chameleon or toucan—but an animal can move only if it is able to feed.
- Chameleon: Eat one mosquito from a corner of its current space, then move one square orthogonally.
- Toucan: Move diagonally from one square to another, eating the top mosquito passed over. It may travel more than one space, provided it can eat from every corner space crossed.
The mosquitoes add changing tactical possibilities to every turn. Eating nine yellow mosquitoes wins the game instantly, while mosquitoes in other colors provide special powers. These powers can let you move a mosquito, move one of your animals, or force your opponent to play with a particular animal.
If one of your animals cannot feed, it cannot move. If neither animal can be fed, you lose the game, making every available mosquito and movement route important. With its compact grid, distinct animal abilities, and powerful colored mosquitoes, Mosquito Show delivers a focused contest of positioning, timing, and tactical choices.
