About this board game
Munchkin Impossible is a satirical spy-themed card game for 3–6 players that takes about 120 minutes to play. Players begin at level 1 and compete to become the first to reach level 10 while eliminating opposition, collecting treasure, and taking their rivals’ stuff.
Instead of fantasy adventurers, the Munchkins are spies operating among Americans, Russians, British, and Chinese affiliations. Choose a role such as Playboy, Tourist, or Assassin, then watch loyalties change as the game unfolds. Your arsenal ranges from the subtle Cigarette Dart Gun to the spectacular Bazooka with Incendiary Ammo.
On each turn, the active player kicks down the door by drawing an encounter card. Encounters commonly involve battling a monster, with foes ranging from the Defective Defector and Interro-Gator to the Not So Secret Police and the mighty Super Spy himself. Use your level, weapons, and powers to overcome the opposition—or try to run away.
- Play as a satirical spy archetype, including Playboy, Tourist, or Assassin.
- Use gadgets, weapons, and powers to handle dangerous encounters.
- Invite other players to help—or hinder—by adding extra monsters to the encounter.
- Defeat foes for treasure and levels, while defeat brings “bad stuff.”
Other players can help you for their own advantage or make the encounter even tougher, creating the shameless negotiation and backstabbing associated with Munchkin. Treasure and encounter cards drive the action, while successful battles usually provide rewards and defeated players may lose levels and treasure.
Munchkin Impossible can be played on its own or combined with any number of other Munchkin games for even more over-the-top silliness.
