About this board game

Museum: Deluxe Edition is a relic-collecting and bartering board game for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 60 minutes. Set at the turn of the 20th century, it places you in the role of a museum curator during the golden age of museums.

Begin with a small collection, then send explorers around the world to uncover additional relics. Every relic has a value: it can be the cost of adding that item to your museum, or it can contribute toward acquiring another relic. When relics are spent, they move to your reserve, where they can later be exchanged for an equal number of items—but your opponents can also access that reserve.

Your goal is to create the biggest and most coherent collection possible. Collections may be organized around categories such as war, agriculture, or architecture, or around periods and civilizations including Ancient Egypt, Rome, and the Aztec world.

• Patron cards provide bonus cards for assembling specific collections.
• Explorer cards let you hire famous archaeologists whose abilities confer bonuses on your museum.
• Event cards introduce changing circumstances based on historical events.

With more than 300 individual illustrations by Vincent Dutrait and authentic architectural facts, the game combines collection building with a richly presented historical setting. Each decision can affect both your own displays and the relics available to other players.

At the end of Museum: Deluxe Edition, points are awarded for your collections and their value. The player with the most points wins, while the Deluxe Edition includes all Museum expansions for a broader curatorial experience.
