About this board game

Museum Rush is a competitive thieving game for 2–4 players that takes about 60 minutes. Each player controls a thief racing through a museum, grabbing valuable loot while avoiding guards, security cameras, and greedy rivals.

On a turn, a thief can move up to three tiles. If they are on a tile with loot, they can take a stealing action to claim it. Some tiles contain Rare Treasures, which are worth much more than standard loot—but stealing them requires rolling the correct numbers to crack their lock code.

Every stealing action brings the nearest guard two spaces closer to the thief. Attempting to crack a lock has the same effect, and revealing a security camera after stealing moves the guard another two spaces. If a guard reaches your tile, you can try to slip away with a dice roll or use cards such as Take Down and Lure.

  • Move through the museum and steal loot from room tiles.
  • Use cards to deal with guards, disable security cameras, and interfere with rival thieves.
  • Find special items, including sultry Llamas, mighty Underwear, and a high-tech Cardboard Box.

Getting caught does not eliminate a player. Instead, the thief is thrown out of the Museum and loses all but one card, then can break in again. Players draw new cards at the beginning of their turns, giving them fresh ways to manage danger and disrupt opponents.

Clock cards advance time, and drawing enough of them ends the game. Then every thief rushes for the nearest exit, rolling a die to avoid dropping a card for each space they must cover. Once outside the Museum, the player with the highest-value loot wins. With its escalating guard pressure, special treasures, and tense final escape, Museum Rush turns every theft into a risky race.
