About this board game
Napoleon Saga: Waterloo is a strategic card wargame for two players, with games lasting about 90 minutes. Set during the 1815 Belgium campaign, it pits the French army against the coalition force in a contest of military planning and battlefield decisions.
Each player controls two decks: one representing their army and another representing their strategic plans. Players deploy their starting troops on the board, then alternate turns as they seek to defeat the opposing force. The game combines card-driven tactics with the freedom to shape an army through deck-building.
There are two ways to win. You can disband the opposing army by emptying its ranks, or reach at least ten Victory points. Victory points come from defeating enemy units and completing secret objectives, giving players more than one route to success.
- Strategic card wargame for exactly two players
- Two decks per player: army cards and strategic plans
- Victory through army disbandment or at least ten Victory points
- Deck-building lets you create your own armies and change history
The base game contains no scenarios, but the two expansions add battles from the historic campaign. These include Quatre-Bras, Ligny, Waterloo, and Wavre, allowing players to recreate famous confrontations from the period.
Alternatively, use the deck-building aspect to construct your own forces and explore different possibilities. Napoleon Saga: Waterloo offers a focused two-player experience where army composition, strategic plans, battlefield deployment, enemy units, and secret objectives all contribute to the struggle for victory.
