About this board game
NATO, Nukes & Nazis is a two-player operational and strategic-level simulation of an alternative World War III, with an approximately 180-minute play time.
The game imagines a world in which Nazi Germany survived the Second World War and, in the early 1990s, made another attempt at planetary domination. Germany faces an alliance of North Atlantic democracies in a conflict shaped by the military trends that might have developed from weapons planned in 1945.
Three scenarios and a full Campaign game present a range of hypothetical situations. Each side earns victory points through Political Points and other objectives, with those objectives varying according to the side being played. The player with the higher total wins, while the ratio of points earned determines the level of victory.
- Rules for mobilization and ground, naval, and air attacks
- Political events and intelligence
- Nuclear weapons and other aspects of modern warfare
- A full-colour 34-by-22-inch map and 400 counters
- Charts, tables, and extensive designer’s notes
NATO, Nukes & Nazis combines military operations with political objectives, intelligence, and the threat of nuclear weapons. Its scenarios and Campaign game explore how an imagined confrontation between Nazi Germany and the NATO-aligned democracies might unfold at the operational and strategic levels.
