About this board game

NEOM is a modern city-building game for 1–5 players, with games lasting around 45 minutes. Through simultaneous drafting and tile placement, each player develops a city while competing to create the most impressive urban landscape.

Build through a tree of 17 different goods across three tiers. Unlocking goods allows you to place increasingly powerful tiles, creating a progression that rewards thoughtful planning and helps shape each city’s development.

Tiles also include roads, and those roads must be connected without rotating the tiles. This restriction makes placement a crucial decision: every addition to your city must work with its current layout while leaving an eye toward the future.

At the beginning of each game, players draft cornerstones. These powerful, unique tiles heavily change the value of different approaches, helping give each session its own strategic direction and supporting a wide variety of viable strategies.

NEOM was developed over seven years, with its rules and tile set refined through more than 3,500 games recorded in a custom online prototype. That extensive development process led to an exceptionally well-balanced experience with substantial strategic variety.

Released in 2018, NEOM was named Rahdo’s #3 game of 2018 and received the Dice Tower Seal of Approval.
