Newton: New Horizon

About this expansion

Newton: New Horizon is a new game board for 1–4 players, with a listed play time of 90 minutes and a 2022 release year. It provides a new technology track with spaces that award victory points under special conditions, as well as objective spaces that can double their value.

On the triangular spaces, having at least one student provides a bonus whenever you perform the indicated action. You receive 1 VP when that action is performed as a Basic Action, as a Special Effect from an action card, or as an effect from an Invention tile or Master card.

• The bonus is always 1 VP, even if you have multiple students on the same space.
• The bonus remains 1 VP even when the action’s value is more than 1.
• The relevant action can be activated through several different effect types.

Two objective spaces on the board display an x2 symbol and require 5 Volumes. If you have a Student on one of these spaces at the end of the game, you receive double the victory points provided by that Objective tile.

The x2 effect also doubles an Objective tile’s “max. X” limitation, if it has one. This creates a clear end-game condition to consider while using the expanded technology track and positioning Students on its special spaces.

With its conditional action rewards and doubled objective spaces, Newton: New Horizon adds focused scoring opportunities to the Newton experience. The board’s effects reward attention to both the actions you perform and the Students you place throughout the game.
