Nine-minute Kingdom

About this board game

Nine-minute Kingdom is a simultaneous card game for 1–5 players that takes 9 or fewer minutes to play. Build a 3×3 kingdom from nine cards, then score points by completing edicts and connecting the symbols across your landscape.

The game lasts exactly nine turns. Each turn, players simultaneously choose one card and add it to their kingdom before passing the unused cards to the player on the left. This card-drafting process continues until everyone has played their ninth and final card.

Every card expands your kingdom, while three straightforward placement rules shape its development:

• After the first card, each card must be placed adjacent to a card already on the table.
• The completed kingdom must form a 3×3 square.
• Cards may be added freely and do not need to match cards already placed.

Once all kingdoms are complete, scoring begins with the edicts. The Kingsroad edict is awarded first to the player with the longest connected road. The remaining edict cards then go to the players who meet their requirements.

Players also score their individual terrains. Terrains containing the highest number of different symbols generate points, with the values indicated by the scorecards. The player with the highest total score wins.

With its rapid nine-turn structure and simultaneous decisions, Nine-minute Kingdom delivers a compact kingdom-building challenge. The Kickstarter edition included both the Expansions and Variants expansions.
